Geneva College Men's Rugby hosted University of Pitt-Johnstown at Reeves Field on September 13, 2025, falling 64–19 at home.
The Golden Tornadoes struck first, putting up the opening try and conversion to take a 7–0 lead. UPJ quickly answered back, leveling the score at 7–7.
For the opening 20 minutes, the match was evenly contested, with both sides trading territory and possession. Geneva’s defensive line held firm early, but as the first half wore on, cracks began to show. UPJ capitalized with several line breaks that swung momentum firmly in their favor.
The second half continued in much the same fashion, with Geneva struggling to contain UPJ’s attack. UPJ maintained control and pulled away, sealing the match with consistent pressure and finishing ability.
Though Geneva fell short on the scoreboard, the match offered valuable lessons and experience to build upon as the season progresses.
