Rocky Nurss (Geneva College class of '98) was one of the earliest members of the Geneva College Rugby Club and served as the team's coach for many years through the last two decades. Rocky currently serves as the Head Coach for the Girls High School Rugby program at Moon Area School District.
Rocky is this year's recipient of the Mark Davis Award for the Rugby Pennsylvania Coach of the Year.
This honor comes as a result of Rocky's passion to grow the game of rugby. Rocky helped start the Moon Area High School girls' team in 2014 who won the Division II State title in 2017 and the Division I State Championship in 2022. He also coaches the West Pitt Foxes in Rugby PA Fall Sevens. Additionally, Rocky helped set up the West Allegheny High School Girls' program and the Mt. Lebanon High School Girls' program in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
Rocky continues to be a dedicated influence and advocate for PA Rugby.
